Fostering Development through Education
The Vision for this Project is to create a hub for development, employment and innovation that is inspired by and serves the entire community. Moreover, the Mission for the School is to empower Kenyan students - through stellar education - to become change-makers of the continent.
Consciously Designed
The design stage of the school was heavily iterated. The team held ‘barazas’ (village meeting) with the community, whereby the community provided their design ideas along with their vision for the school. The team then worked with an assigned Architect (from the Kilifi County), Structural Engineer and Quantity Surveyor to ensure that the school was designed in accordance to the Ministry of Education’s School of Excellence requirements.
Proposed Sustainability Initiatives
The Four Pillars that the School will address are as follows; Education, Environmental Conservation, Quality of Life and Economic Development. The Community and the Team worked together to come up with various visionary initiatives that target the above.
